Meet Fluent Lighting

Rick Meyer is a seasoned business leader with a career dedicated to the professional lighting industry. Prior to Fluent Lighting, Rick was brought in to rebuild and eventually run SPI Lighting. Rick was previously at Lightolier and amongst many duties rebuilt and ran Architectural Decorative, Track Lighting and the Calculite Downlighting business units. Rick started his career at Cooper Lighting in manufacturing and went on to become a part of the team developed Iris Lighting Systems.

Tad Lenhart is an award-winning product designer and engineer both for the lighting and contract furniture industries. Before Fluent Lighting, Tad was brought on to revitalize the lighting portfolio, creating a range of innovative and impactful products. Prior to that, Tad was at KI where he designed and introduced a number of product lines of which were awarded three separate Best of NeoCon Gold Awards plus an additional Innovation Award for contract furniture.

Born and raised in Montfermeil, France, Rachel Rosenkrantz studied design at ESAG Penninghen and at RISD, where she was exposed to both fine art and applied art. Rachel’s work has been exhibited in Paris at Le Carrousel du Louvre and Le Musée d’art Contemporain du Palais de Tokyo and in Seoul, Korea at the Hangaram Museum of Modern Art.

Rachel is currently a professor at Rhode Island School of Design where she specializes in teaching talented young students on the fundamentals of product and industrial design. Rachel is also a master luthier based in Rhode Island, where she designs and handcrafts unique stringed instruments. She has also worked for years as an industrial designer and model designer at major companies. In the field of lighting, she was instrumental in designing groundbreaking Architectural Decorative and Track Lighting products at Lightolier. Rachel most recently has been integrally involved in the industrial design of Fluent Lighting’s products.
